First, I can finally put up my picture of me and Ambra from this weekend. We had such fun.
Also, I put up some great family pictures on my other blog, so feel free to go see them.
Finally, it seems that every time I make a good decision, or a break through on something, I end up feeling... crappy! I made some little decisions, nothing major, yesterday and was really happy with it. I shared it with Josh, and he was in agreement with me. Then, within a few hours, I was feeling those out-of-nowhere, I'm-sad-for-no-reason, what-the-heck-is-wrong-with-me blues. (Yes, I did sing that line as I typed it, didn't you?)
I know where this mental attack comes from, I'm wise enough (I think that is the first time in my life I've boasted of wisdom) to see that. But it doesn't make it go away. We're looking into Joy for our next ladies study. I was ready to lead that study 2 weeks ago. Now, I feel I could teach one on chronic depression.
I am spending time in the Word. I am praying. I've even been talking lots to my grandmother, sharing scripture with her-she is a believer, she just has a lot going on right now- even making scripture cards for her to hang up around her house. I don't even do that for myself! And I feel good about that. So it's not my lack of communication w/ the Lord.
I think I know what the root of it is. And I guess it is so shallow, vain, and superficial, that I will just shut up about it, deal with it, and get over it. Or at least try!
Maybe I need to put a tarantula on my shoulder, right inhisarms ?
Anyway, deep down, I'm okay. I just needed to vent, to rant, to share. That's what blogs are for. Yup, sang that one, too!
So, I'm off to spend the afternoon w/ a new lady/mom/homeschooler I met. We're going to her house for lunch and play. That will be fun, and I know having some good fellowship will be just what the Physician ordered. Be blessed today. I'm sure I will be.

Oh, to recognize when the enemy sweeps in to speak ugly thoughts in our ears. Remember how defeated Elijah felt after his battle with the priests when he won!? Satan likes to kick us when we are down, but he also likes to kick us off the mountain top! Let's face it he goes about like a roaring lion seeking to devour us! Hugs to you!
ReplyDeletehi I am feeling pretty depressed down in the dumps myself ...it's not fun...
ReplyDeleteHey lady-
ReplyDeleteThe blues are sometimes hard to overcome. I truly know how hard it is but i have found great comfort in these verses from 2 samuel 22:
3 my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn [a] of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—
from violent men you save me.
4 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.
5 "The waves of death swirled about me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
6 The cords of the grave [b] coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.
7 In my distress I called to the LORD;
I called out to my God.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came to his ears.
===============================
17 "He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.
18 He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.
19 They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the LORD was my support.
20 He brought me out into a spacious place;
he rescued me because he delighted in me.
================================
26 "To the faithful you show yourself faithful,
to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
27 to the pure you show yourself pure,
but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.
28 You save the humble,
but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.
29 You are my lamp, O LORD;
the LORD turns my darkness into light.
30 With your help I can advance against a troop [g] ;
with my God I can scale a wall.
31 "As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the LORD is flawless.
He is a shield
for all who take refuge in him.
32 For who is God besides the LORD ?
And who is the Rock except our God?
33 It is God who arms me with strength [h]
and makes my way perfect.
34 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he enables me to stand on the heights.
35 He trains my hands for battle;
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
36 You give me your shield of victory;
you stoop down to make me great.
37 You broaden the path beneath me,
so that my ankles do not turn.
